Bio
As a special and general education teacher of 16 years, I pride myself in the success of my learners. I believe in meeting students where they are by developing personable and engaging lessons that resonate beyond our sessions. Students have overcome disabilities, diagnoses, and disadvantages through my mindful, data-driven, and specially designed instruction. I love creating a dynamic of positivity, celebrating achievements, and encouraging students at their side while they flourish.
Teacher Specialization
I have an array of experiences teaching in-person and through virtual platforms. I have taught Kindergarten to Grade 12 and beyond, serving students on the autism spectrum, with emotional or behavioral disorders, with specific learning disabilities, speech or language impairments, and gifted students. I have experience in a range of academic subjects. For many years I specifically taught English/Language Arts and Mathematics. While there is not a particular subject that I specialize in, my talent lies in my ability to teach across core subjects. I often infuse multidisciplinary approaches into my instruction. My methodologies include intentional scaffolding, premeditating deficiencies and targeting them, and initiating enrichment when appropriate. I am certified in Exceptional Student Education K-12, Elementary Education K-6, Art Education K-5, I am English as a Second Language (ESOL) Endorsed, and Reading Endorsed.
