Bio
I believe students learn best through personalized, engaging instruction that builds on their strengths, addresses learning gaps, and connects lessons to real life. I provide timely, specific feedback so students understand their progress, learn from mistakes, and become confident, independent learners. My goal is to strengthen academic skills while developing critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, perseverance, and a love of learning. I build positive relationships by listening, celebrating progress, and creating lessons that reflect each student’s interests and needs. I provide a safe, respectful, supportive environment where every learner feels valued and comfortable asking questions. I'm Dr. Raymond Anacaya, an educator who has taught in the Philippines and the United States. I speak English and Filipino and enjoy robotics, coding, game design, gardening and hands-on STEM activities. I became a tutor to help students gain confidence, experience success, and enjoy learning.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching specialization focuses on elementary mathematics, reading and language arts, science, STEM, robotics, coding, and computer science. I am endorsed in Gifted and Talented Education, and have experience supporting struggling, on-level, advanced, and gifted learners. As a Math Interventionist, I identify skill gaps and provide targeted instruction in number sense, operations, problem solving, fractions, measurement, data, and mathematical reasoning. I use diagnostic assessments, scaffolded practice, visual models, manipulatives, games, and progress monitoring to adjust each tutoring session. I also support reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and foundational literacy skills. My lessons integrate computational thinking, coding, robotics, and real-world STEM challenges to strengthen logic, creativity, and perseverance. I specialize in personalized one-on-one and small-group instruction that is structured, engaging, and responsive to each student’s learning needs.
