Bio
Hi! I am a high school Algebra teacher who believes that every student is capable of learning and succeeding in math. What I love most about teaching is helping students build confidence in their abilities and getting to see the “a-ha” moments when a concept finally starts to click. My teaching approach is simple: I take complex concepts and break them down into manageable steps that help students truly understand the process. I have experience helping students in everything from Pre-Algebra to Calculus. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time in my garden, going on nature walks with my Morkie, and trying to stay active. I also enjoy reading and working on logic puzzles like Sudoku and Cryptograms. Whether you need help understanding a concept, support with homework, or just some encouragement, I would be happy to work with you. I look forward to meeting you soon!
Teacher Specialization
I earned my Master’s degree in Secondary Math Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University and am certified to teach secondary math and science in the state of Texas. I currently teach Algebra 2 and Honors Algebra 2 at Texas Online Preparatory School, a Stride-powered virtual high school. Over the past decade, I have taught in both virtual and traditional classroom settings, working with students in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Chemistry, and Integrated Physics/Chemistry. I have experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs and helping them build both academic skills and confidence in math and science.
