Hello! I am a high school math teacher, and I am looking forward to working with you! I am a firm believer that everyone can do math. It’s just about learning how to use the strategies in a way that works for you. I view every math problem as a puzzle, and I’ll give you the clear, step-by-step guidance you need to be able solve problems on your own. In our sessions, you won't just be watching me do math problems. We'll work together, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions so you can understand the "why" behind the process. I'll adapt our time together to help you fill in gaps, build your problem-solving muscles, and even have some fun along the way! My goal is to help you feel confident in your ability to solve any problem on your own. I can't wait to work with you!
Teacher Specialization
I have over ten years of experience teaching high school math. I have a BA in Neuroscience and an M.Ed. in Math Curriculum and Instruction. I currently teach Algebra 2 and Honors Algebra 2 at TOPS, a Stride-powered virtual high school, where I also previously taught Algebra 1. This experience has made me an expert in using digital tools to make math interactive and engaging. Before teaching at TOPS, I was an online Precalculus and Algebra 2 tutor, and I taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Precalculus, Chemistry, and Algebra 2 in a brick-and-mortar school. My work has given me the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, so I can quickly adapt my lessons to fit your needs.
