Bio

My name is Sierra Roberts. I have taught for 12 years. Outside of education I am also a wife and mother to three wonderful children, ages 8, 3, and 1 1/2. I love all things theatre/Broadway related and I am a huge believer that the use of Arts within the classroom is beneficial to student learning. I also love to sing and create things. My most recent crafting/DIY obsession is embroidery! I look forward to my family's move to North Georgia so that we can finally own our own little homestead and have lots of chickens, goats, and rabbits, along with growing more of our own fruits and vegetables! I believe that the more your students like being around you and in your space, the more comfortable they will be in taking risks with their learning. I am looking forward to providing a tutoring space that allows students to show their learning process(es) in any way that works best for them. I don't care so much about how they get there, just that they arrive!

Teacher Specialization

I have taught 1st grade for two years, 2nd and 4th grade for one school year each, and 2 1/2 years with 5th grade, specializing in Reading/Language Arts. I also have a total of 4 1/2 years of experience teaching 6th grade. While in 6th grade I taught a variety of classes that stretched from on-level ELA courses to Intensive Reading courses for our students that needed additional reading support throughout the day. I also taught World History for at least two of those years. In addition to all of this, I spent my first year serving as a Reading Interventionist for an entire elementary school.
