Bio
I am a retired teacher and former software engineer. I live in Colorado. I believe that everyone can learn. As a learning team I want to help you figure out the way you learn. I am dyslexic. Each of my children are either dyslexic or have other learning issues. When I decided to go into teaching, I wanted to be the regular ed teacher that provide the different support all students need. Over the years working with all different students, in different environments and classes, I have learn great ways to support everyone's learning. In any tutoring I will find different ways for you to understand the concept that you are struggling in. I may ask questions about things you like to bring the information that you already know and can expand. I like to start any session by making sure you can use the platform, know how to ask questions and know that all questions are important. Fun Facts: I love to make my own clothes. I sew, quilt, knit, crochet and cross stitch.
Teacher Specialization
I have always loved math. I have found it interesting the patterns that are found in numbers, how we use numbers. There are many ways to get an answer in math. All are correct. None is better than the other. The way you use depends on how you like to think. In math I can give you many different ways to think about the concepts and processes. Before I was a teacher I was a computer software engineer. I love to see something start working and meet the users needs. All programming is similar. Each language has it's own syntax. With AI and other tools programming has become so much easier. I have been teaching for more than 20 years. I worked for a virtual High school for 8 years. I built my own courses and support the building of course shells. I have taught from 6th grade to Community College levels. I have mostly taught Math, CIS, IT, CompTIA courses, and Computer Science (programming). I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Master of Ed in Instructional Technology.
