Bio
My name is Terri Campbell. I'm the mother of four wonderful children and the grandmother of three fantastic grandchildren. I love teaching and continuing to help children learn. I'm a retired 1st grade teacher. My degree is a BS of education in early childhood through eighth grade. There is so much joy in seeing children's faces light up when they understand the concept being taught. I provide a safe and comfortable learning environment where the students feel free to ask questions and participate in the lessons. Activities should be incorporated into the lessons to make them enjoyable and relevant. One of my favorite subjects to teach is reading. I have been very successful in this area. When the child learns to read then they can learn any subject. I also enjoy teaching math. Using demonstrations, activities, and real-life situations helps the learning become relevant. I believe that building the child's self-confidence is instrumental in helping them to learn and enjoy.
Teacher Specialization
I taught English and math to middle school students (grades 6-8). My background as a speech implementation enabled me to tailor communication strategies to individual student needs. My many years as a first - grade teacher, have been rewarding, helping them transition from learning to read to reading to learn, while covering all 1st grade curriculum. I hold a BS of Science in ED. and am certified to teach Elementary ED. (grades 1-8), Lang. Arts, S.S. (4-8) and Early Childhood (birth - 3rd).
