Bio

My name is Tina Pirigyi and I am a retired teacher of 30+ years. I taught elementary school and middle school (grade 6). My personal belief is that I am committed on providing a nurturing learning environment that is both engaging and rigorous but invigorates the student and teacher to learn. I believe children deserve a safe, positive environment through all grade levels. I believe in building relationships and the essence of being kind. As a student I remember the teachers that were approachable or who made a difference in my life. Today the role of the teacher is complicated. We must coach, counsel, and motivate these students to be ready for the 21st century. They need to be advocates for their own learning. I am a passionate teacher. I know this is my purpose and it comes naturally to me. I loved my job and every day was a new adventure for me and my students. There are never two days alike.

Teacher Specialization

-Bachelor's Degree-Education K-6 -Earned my Masters of Education-K-9 (9th grade-Language Arts) -Taught elementary students (all core subjects-reading, writing, math, science, social studies) and 6th graders (math 6, math 7, social studies and science) for over 30 years. -Tutored in person throughout my career. -Tutored virtually- taught a variety of grade levels (7-12th graders) this past year (Subjects include: Participation in Government, Global History, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, College Algebra, US History, 7th grade science as well as a variety of electives (online) Skills: • Effective listening • Excellent management • Reporting and documentation • Organized • Flexible
