Bio
Hi I'm Tressa and I've been an educator for 8 years in the sunny state of Florida. My background is in Secondary English Education and I am passionate about literacy, comprehension, and building confidence as well as helpful strategies in reading. Some things that I value as a teacher are creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students to learn, being patient, relatable, and finding strategies that work best for each person to grasp an understanding of the topics. I do consider myself a lifelong learner who does not know everything, so I hope to learn a few things from the students as well. I am a mother to a 7 year old son and I take pride in having the capacity to be able to help him academically as well as a teacher.
Teacher Specialization
I am a certified Secondary English Education teacher, I am Reading Endorsed K-12) and have served elementary and middle school students. Moreover, I am currently working on becoming certified in teaching at the elementary grade level. I have served in both public and charter schools, most of my years being dedicated to middle school students. Within the past 3 years, I have been working with elementary aged students as a Tier 1 Intervention Teacher/Tutor. I have also worked at a tutoring center in my community, instructing mostly K-7th grade students.
