Bio

My name is Wendy Bailey. I have been teaching elementary school students for 25 years. I love teaching students. My focus has been primarily in instructing English learners and enhancing their reading and language arts. My approach is to equip students by teaching phonics, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary, which helps them improve their reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. I am extremely patient and will ensure understanding by having students respond in complete sentences.

Teacher Specialization

I spent 20 years teaching elementary school, covering grades kindergarten, first, second, and fifth. Additionally, I have experience as a substitute teacher across all elementary grades. Since the pandemic, I have been offering both in-person and online tutoring through platforms like Wyzant, Seesaw, and Outschool. In these settings, I focus on teaching reading, writing, and math. I hold a Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Bachelor's in Art with a Teaching Emphasis. My specialization lies in reading and writing, having met the qualifications for Reading First and No Child Left Behind. I believe in the importance of collaborating effectively to prepare students for their educational journey. I am dedicated to being patient and will re-teach material until the student achieves a thorough understanding. Together, we achieve success.
