Bio
Hello! My name is Greg Barton and I have retired from a 30 year career in public education. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology along with a minor in Geology and some post-graduate coursework in Biology. I believe that all students have the ability to succeed, but sometimes they might need to use a different strategy to get there. In my classroom, I believe my students would say that there was a mixture of ways in which they learned and that every day was a new experience for them. At my school, we used data to help drive our instruction and we used break out groups so that students could get help from different teachers in the department over the same material. Many times it helps to learn from a different perspective and that's where I believe tutoring can be so helpful.
Teacher Specialization
I have 30 years experience in public education. I spent the first eight years of my career teaching middle school science, which back then was 8th grade Earth Science and 7th grade Life Science. After eight years, I moved up to teaching at the high school level. For the last twenty two years, I taught Biology, Advanced Biology, and AP Biology. Also, I have many years of experience with the AP summer Institute.
