Bio
My name is Amanda Bass. I am married to my husband for 12 years and we have three kids ages 10, 8, and 6. I love cooking, baking, reading, and exercising. I enjoy traveling with my family. A fun fact about me is that I am known to make the best chocolate chip cookies. I believe all students learn best when they feel that they are valued by their teacher. As a teacher, I work hard to get to know the students so that I know how to best help them learn. The goals I aim to while tutoring is to make meaningful connections with students and to help celebrate successes that they have (big and small). I want to set attainable goals with the students, so they they can see their progress each session. I will spend a small amount of time talking with the student(s) on a personal level. It is important to make them feel comfortable and ready to learn. I will do this by asking simple questions (What did you do over the weekend? or What is your favorite food?).
Teacher Specialization
I have more than 8 years of teaching and tutoring experience. Not only do I have classroom experience, but I have also helped tutor at my own kids' school with math and reading. I have taught both middle school math and science, but I am eager to help students in the elementary level, too. I can't wait to work with you!
