Bio
I have twenty years of experience working with children, beginning - way back in my pre-college days - as a teacher and caregiver in a daycare setting. I became a teacher's aide for an enclosed special needs classroom while working towards my BA in ELA, after which I went on to become an ELA instructor for six years. In 2021, I obtained my MA in professional school counseling and transitioned into the position of behavioral interventionist for an additional six years. I began working with Alabama Virtual Academy and Stride Inc. after I saw how immensely beneficial the online method of learning was for my own child. For fun, I enjoy freelance writing, learning French, crocheting, and spending time with my family and pets. I believe that teaching should be a magical and transformative experience, aimed at addressing all learning styles. Videos, visual aides, notes, hands-on experiences, class discussions, and movement are hallmarks of a successful learning environment.
