Bio
I believe that every child is unique and learns in different ways. When planning lessons, I keep in mind all learning styles. I know that students need different experiences, some auditory, some visual, and some kinesthetic. I believe it is important for teachers to be flexible and to modify lessons to meet the needs of each individual student. I have a passion for teaching students how to read using the science of reading. I love teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, writing, and grammar most of all. I also enjoy teaching Math and instilling number sense using a hands-on approach. Teaching brings me joy, and I want my students to feel joy in each lesson.
Teacher Specialization
I completed my bachelors of science in Elementary Education in 2017. I began my teaching career in 4th grade ELA and Social Studies and loved the content. I moved to a new area and took a job in 1st grade teaching all subjects. In 2020, while teaching 1st grade, I completed my Master of Education in Elementary degree.
