Bio
I believe that every student has the ability to succeed with the right support. I always try to meet students where they are. As a tutor, I always want kids to feel safe, respected, heard, and supported. I also believe in a child-by-child approach, and that each student needs a unique plan and method. I always aim to work closely with the student and the family to set goals and help achieve them. I like to help students feel confident, smart, and special. I am also always eager to help them learn how to advocate for themselves in the classroom and ask for help or support when needed. I always try to connect with students on a personal level, whether that's asking about pets, hobbies, or just trying to get to know them. I want students to feel like I care about them as people and not just another student. My name is Analuna, or Ms. Luna, and I am excited to be your tutor! I have taught science and speech, and have tutored almost every subject. I even did educational work in New Zealand.
Teacher Specialization
I was a 6th-12th grade science teacher for four years, teaching middle level sciences, biology, and chemistry. Now I am an SLP and teach topics related to speech and language/communication, but I have also tutored every subject for the elementary and middle grades from English to Math to Science! I hold a bachelor's degree from Macalester College (2016) in educational studies, and a master's degree from Emerson College (2024) in communication sciences & disorders (speech-language pathology). I currently hold a valid teaching license in the state of Minnesota for speech-language pathology for grades pre-K through 12. I previously (2018-2022) held a teaching license for middle level science, 9-12th grade biology, and 9th-12th grade chemistry.
