Bio
I believe students learn best when instruction is tailored to their unique strengths, needs, and learning styles. I use differentiated strategies and provide meaningful, constructive feedback to help students grow both academically and personally. My approach as a tutor focuses on fostering curiosity, building confidence, and encouraging lifelong learning. My goal is to help students strengthen their academic skills while also developing critical thinking, creativity, and self-confidence. Whether I’m supporting elementary readers or high school language learners, I aim to foster independence and a lasting love for learning. Through tutoring, I strive to empower each student to reach their highest potential. I prioritize building positive, trusting relationships with my students, as true engagement begins with connection. By creating an inclusive, supportive environment, I ensure each learner feels valued and understood. Getting to know my students personally allows me to tailor lessons
Teacher Specialization
This is currently my third year teaching American Sign Language at the high school level, but I am also certified in English. I taught English for 2 years, also at the high school level. I earned my BA degree in English Education with a concentration in Writing, minored in ASL and Reading, and received my masters in Literacy. After taking a few more ASL courses, I became certified to teach American Sign Language. I have 2 years of experience with private tutoring in reading, virtually, at the elementary school level (specifically 3rd and 4th grade).
