Bio
I have been teaching online for more than five years! I love being able to use the technology we have to reach students on such an individual level. I very much enjoy getting to know my students and celebrate their successes with them. I believe that students learn best when tutors and teachers take the time to get to know not just their weaknesses, but also their strengths. This means using what students know and like to help them connect to what they learn. Students need tutors who are able to adjust content and the way it's learned to meet their current ability and challenge them. Not only do I want to help students where they struggle, but I want to help them build the confidence to take risks in their writing. Everything is difficult at first- we just have to keep trying. I strive to create a supporting and caring environment for all my students.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts Education and have an ESOL endorsement. I have 5 years of experience teaching students with disabilities and gifted students specifically in an online environment. As an online teacher, I work everyday with students who have varying needs, abilities, and ways of thinking. I always work hard to make sure my lessons are more than just reading text aloud so that every student is able to connect with the material and learn.
