Bio
My name is Avery Sage and I believe that learning should be both equitable and fun for every learner. A little about me; I am a mom and wife who loves hiking. Adventure and being outdoors are my favorite. My passion is helping students find their love of learning and discovering their very own shine! I strive for students to find joy even in the midst of struggle. My degree is in K-8 Education, with endorsements in SPED and ESL. My career highlights come from making each of my students feel seen and loved. During virtual learning in 2020 I was recognized for how I was able to connect with my students from a distance. My teaching personality is upbeat, outgoing, and personal. I truly want to get on my students' level, and help them find their way to success, all while creating an enjoyable learning environment. It means so much to me to see students overcome challenges and thrive! I cannot wait to help your student shine.
Teacher Specialization
I taught 5th grade for several years, followed by middle school Accelerated English, and currently am teaching middle school Social Studies. However, math is my favorite subject, which is the subject I've tutored for the most. I have worked with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and of every ability level. I have a degree in Elementary Education, with endorsements in Special Education and ESL. That along with the fact that I have subbed in almost every grade level gives me insight on meeting every student right where they are to help them shine. I have tutored both virtually and in person for the past ten years. My tutoring approach is to build a relationship with my students, and to truly help them feel confident while mastering content.
