Bio

Hello! My name is Beth Miller. I am a certified teacher with over 30 years of experience and a passion for helping students discover their strengths and build confidence. I hold Bachelor’s degrees in Special Education and Psychology from the University of Miami and have taught in general education, inclusion, self-contained, and online settings. The honors I have received include the FLDOE Best and Brightest Teacher Scholarship, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Outstanding Mathematics Teacher Award, Henry King Stanford Scholarship, and the “Chappie” James Most Promising Teacher Scholarship. I would describe my teaching personality as supportive, encouraging, and adaptable. I build strong relationships with students and families and bring creativity, persistence, and humor to every lesson so that learning is engaging, meaningful, and successful.

Teacher Specialization

My teaching experience spans Kindergarten through 9th grade, with a particular specialization in mathematics from 3rd grade through Algebra. Math is my passion, and I enjoy helping students build strong foundational skills while developing a true understanding of concepts rather than memorizing steps. I use a multi-sensory and scaffolded approach that breaks down complex ideas into manageable steps, making math more approachable and less intimidating. I also have extensive experience teaching students with diverse learning styles, including those in Exceptional Student Education programs, and I specialize in working with neurodiverse learners. I take pride in adapting instruction so that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
