Bio

Hello! I am Mrs. McCartney. I am so excited to meet you and look forward to working with you during our tutoring sessions! A little bit about me; I live in North Carolina with my husband and our sweet dog, Dansby. I am very passionate about helping students learn the best way that fits them. Every student is unique and they all learn differently. I love to help a student figure out the best way they learn.We are all lifelong learners! I had a professor use this saying and it has really stuck with me during my teaching experience. I have always loved learning and it's so true that in life you are a lifelong learner. So I love to help share that with students. It is so discouraging when a student is struggling to learn but isn't receiving the help that fits them best. I love when you see a student start getting a love for learning. I will do everything I can to help you in the area you need, while having fun and in a positive and encouraging environment.

Teacher Specialization

I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education K-6 and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. I have experience teaching grades 1st-8th, along with tutoring, and have experience teaching subjects of Math, Science and Reading. Math and Science are my passion. I love making Science fun and I love how complex Math can seem but really how simple it can be broken down to. I have experience teaching students with disabilities, including ADD/ADHD and learning disabilities and limited Autism experience.
