Bio

HELLO! My name Is Brittney I am an elementary tutor for all subjects, but with a focus on ELA and math. My philosophy is learning is not formulaic; it is unique to each individual. Everyone learns a little differently with different strengths. I believe in hands on learning using activities and relatable life experiences to help each student and how they learn best. My goals as a tutor are based on learning styles and teaching to each student’s strengths. I want to help students find their “ah-ha” moments. I want to help my students feel the success and accomplishment they already have inside. I will work hard to help students get past their feeling of intimidation with the subjects they need a little bit of help with so they can see that subject in a new way. A fun fact about me is that I am dyslexic and understand how it feels to need a little extra help in school. Another fun fact is that my husband is from England. I am a mom of a baby boy and a dog named Skylar!

I have taught Elementary School for over ten years. I am also “LETRS” reading certified. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I also have my Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on ELA and Social Studies.
