Bio
My success in teaching is rooted in my deep passion for History and English. I'm able to connect with students and tie their interests to the relevant subject matter. If they love cooking, we can look at history through the lens of what people ate. We can use that as a starting point to understand the past. If your student has to read Henry V but "doesn't like to read," I can certainly tie that into whatever his/her interests are (even video games). These two subjects are absolutely fascinating. If a student doesn't see that, it's just a problem of connecting the right dots. I'm proud to say that my classes (400 total students) have soundly defeated my district's averages on the county and state tests. Even my students who struggle with these subjects have triumphed over those exams like Caesar at Pharsalus.
Teacher Specialization
I have a bachelors degree in History and two years of experience teaching World History and Language Arts. Prior to that, I privately tutored throughout my college career. These tutoring sessions were primarily focused on writing due to the demand in my area. I am certified to teach all History and Language Arts courses to students Grade 6-12.
