Bio
I have had the privilege of educating students across elementary and middle school levels, including those with autism and special needs for 35 years. My journey in education also includes teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), working with both children and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. Throughout my career, I have embraced the belief that every student is capable of learning when given the right support, encouragement, and environment. My teaching philosophy centers on creating inclusive, engaging, and adaptive learning experiences that meet students where they are and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I am known for my patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic teaching style. I strive to build strong relationships with my students, fostering a classroom atmosphere where they feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn. My goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning and to empower each to their full potential.
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in teaching elementary and middle school students, including those with autism, special needs, and English language learners for the last 35 years. My approach is student-centered, adaptive, and rooted in empathy—focusing on building confidence, fostering independence, and creating a supportive learning environment tailored to each learner’s unique needs. For the past 7 years, I have also taught and tutored virtually, effectively using digital tools to engage students of all ages in both academic subjects and ESOL instruction, which has allowed me to connect with diverse learners across different backgrounds, maintaining high levels of interaction, personalization, and academic growth in an online setting. I have taught grades 1-8 in Reading, Math, Language Arts, Science and Social studies as well as ESOL for grades 1-6 and adults. I have a Bachelors degree in Education, Masters Degree in Reading and endorsement in ESOL and Special Education.
