Bio
I believe students learn best when motivated and instruction is differentiated for their learning style. One of my goals that I aim to achieve through tutoring is helping students better understand a certain concept or learning material. I believe all students can learn math and apply that knowledge to real world scenarios. Building positive and meaningful relationships with students would mean getting to know each other as a person, their learning styles, and their interests. To create a supportive and inclusive environment for students, I would use what I know about the student to create interesting learning material and support them by teaching the content in their particular learning style. Some of my hobbies and interests include baking, reading, and playing video games. I became a tutor because I want to help students better understand math and possibly enjoy it.
Teacher Specialization
I have 1 year in education and have taught 6th and 8th grade math. My degrees include a Bachelors in Sociology from The College of William and Mary and a Masters in Middle Grades Math from Western Governors University. My background has prepared me to be the best tutor I can be by having experience with teaching a classroom of students that vary in learning needs, differentiating instruction for each student, and receiving feedback from multiple teachers on how to become a better teacher.
