Bio
Hello! Thank you for visiting my K12 Tutor profile. I have had the opportunity to teach in traditional classrooms as a Special Education teacher and also teach as a 1 to 1 voice and flute instructor. These experiences have gifted me with the joy of teaching students of all ages and different learning styles. I believe that learning is a journey and a partnership between the student and tutor; I meet my students where they are and create mutual goals with them, moving them forward in understanding and mastery of the content which they need to learn. It is important to me that my students develop metacognition, which means they learn how to learn. Throughout our tutoring sessions, it is my goal that you will identify your strengths and how you learn best. I am excited for this chance to tutor online and help you learn and grow in confidence, as you master whatever content with which you are struggling.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught 14 years as a Special Education Teacher, specifically in the subjects of ELA and Math across all grade levels, reading and math intervention, and Elementary Science and Social Studies inclusion. I also taught for 2 years in private school (student ages 10 - 18), specifically in the subjects of Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Music, Music therapy, and Biology. Special Education Certification, State of Tennessee; MM in Music Therapy; BA in Psychology and Music.
