Bio

My name is Christina, and I have been an educator for 7 years. In practice, I optimize learning through a variety of instructional strategies tailored to meet the needs of individual students. Making students successful includes skills outside traditional academic instruction, so I teach students to employ a variety of problem solving strategies that fit their individualized needs so they can build confidence and independence in the learning process; these skills will remain critical throughout their future. I aim to build positive trust relationships with my scholars to boost student growth outcomes that challenge them. I enjoy developing an enthusiasm to learn through positive reinforcement and calculated instruction that build students' confidence.

Teacher Specialization

My online teaching experience began when schools were virtual during the COVID epidemic! Although it was new, I quickly began to enjoy the flexibility and small-group sessions. I have taught students with special needs my entire teaching career. I have experience writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) on levels ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade, and any type of neurodiverse students. I can teach multiple subjects, including reading, writing, math, social skills, social studies. My passion is connecting with students to meet them where they are at and to show them their full potential, regardless of their current learning needs. Using data and assessment, I know how to be flexible and change instruction in real time so the student gets the specific instruction they need. I feel it's important to build a strong trust relationship that will allow us, together, to enjoy learning and build a toolbox of skills for a challenge and academic growth.
