Bio
My name is Colleen Kayl and I am excited to be your science tutor! I believe in creating an open atmosphere that is fun and exciting, where students are not afraid to take risks. We will together target strategies that work best for the student to make learning personal, while developing skills that the student can apply to other classes. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking, traveling, horseback riding and animals! I volunteer time at a local wildlife rehabilitation center, providing care for Michigan native species ranging from baby fawns to eagles. At home, I have 2 children, 10 chickens, 2 dogs, 2 fish and a cockatiel. I look forward to getting to know you better too!
Teacher Specialization
I spent 6 years in an urban brick and mortar school before going online as a virtual science teacher. Since making the move, I have been teaching online for 11 years! I have taught everything from AP Environmental Science, to AP Biology, to Biology, to Forensics and everything in between. In addition, I was the Science Department Lead for 6 years. In addition, I have been a K12 tutor for a year!
