Bio
Hi! I'm Mrs. Howard. I'm a 9th grade math teacher, but my degree is in Math, PE, and Creative Writing, so I have a lot of interests. My partner and I also own a small CrossFit gym in Michigan, where we reside with our dog and two cats. I believe students learn best in a patient environment where they are not afraid to ask questions and keep trying until they understand. I hope to help students feel more confident in math skills and processes, along with critical thinking and creative problem solving. Students will feel at ease with me because I am patient and encouraging.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in Secondary Mathematics, Physical Education, and Creative Writing. I have been teaching for a little over five years, but this is my fifth in virtual education. I taught 8th grade math and PE at a local brick-and-mortar school, and I'm currently in my fifth year teaching Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra in a virtual environment.
