Hello, I’m Deborah Curry, a recently retired educator with a lifelong passion for helping children learn and grow. Even after retirement, my love for teaching and helping students grow continues to inspire me every day. I believe that every child is a unique learner who deserves a safe, caring, and motivating environment in which to thrive. My philosophy centers on creating a space where students feel confident taking risks, asking questions, and sharing ideas. My goal as a tutor is to meet each child where they are while focusing on their individual strengths, challenges, and progress through personalized instruction that supports their academic and emotional growth.
Teacher Specialization
With over 30 years of experience in education, my career includes teaching, literacy development, and educational leadership. Throughout my journey, I’ve taught all core subjects in Pre-K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades, and served as a Reading Specialist for kindergarten through fifth grade students and teachers. I specialize in reading and language arts, helping students build strong literacy skills, comprehension, and a genuine love for learning. In my tutoring sessions, learning is always an adventure that is filled with interactive storytelling, engaging academic games, and creative videos that make lessons fun, meaningful, and memorable. My greatest joy is seeing students grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability as we work together to unlock their fullest potential. I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
