Bio
Hello, My name is Ms. Walker and my philosophy of education is that every child can learn regardless of their circumstances. In addition, to Stride Core Values, I strongly believe in patience, understanding, and knowledge when working with children. I love tutoring students because I can personalize each lesson, and better understand my student's challenges, likes, and dislikes. It is important to build a rapport with my students because it helps minimize anxiety, encourage social interaction, and increase participation and learning. Before, each session, I like to greet them and check in to see how they are doing, My tutoring objective is to assist with personal academic grade-level content, that is aligned with their state standards, I will do this through assessing, modeling, scaffolding, and teaching skills/strategies for students to practice on their own. Creating independent and lifelong learners help students to become accountable and successful.
