Bio

I truly enjoy helping students reach their potential and look forward to helping you throughout the tutoring process. I am a mother of two teenage sons, one with a severe medical disability. I am also an army wife and have been married to my husband for 19 years. I have had the pleasure of living all over the United States, and currently live in Central Texas. I am a dog lover and and enjoy reading and running. I love helping students learn and realize what they are capable of accomplishing. As your tutor, you will receive compassion, encouragement, and helpful lessons to help enhance your learning. My teaching philosophy is to make sure each and every learner is given the opportunity to grow and thrive in a positive and productive learning environment. I love social studies and helping students make meaningful connections to what they are learning. I look forward to working with you!

Teacher Specialization

I have five years of educator experience, primarily working as a High School Social Studies Teacher, though I also have experience at the elementary and middle school levels. I am certified to teach Social Studies grades 4 - 12, Core Content grades 4 - 8, and Special Education Early Childhood through 12th grade. I graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Spanish from Western Oregon University in 2003. In 2005, I graduated with a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Willamette University.
