Bio
My name is Gabby Gafford and I am an avid reader. I have two children and enjoy sharing my love of reading with them. I want to help more students reach their full potential. I believe that all students are capable of greatness. Through immediate feedback and support, students are able to reach their full potential. I believe that by working with students, we can find solutions to best meet their learning needs. I want to encourage students to have a growth mindset. Students should feel free to mistakes but be able to think critically on how to fix those mistakes and continue to grow. I love learning about the interests of my students and finding ways to incorporate their interests into lessons. This helps them buy into what we are doing and feel seen.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Masters degree in Elementary Education. I taught 5th grade for the past 5 years. I was self-contained for 4 years, so I have experience teaching math, English, science and social studies. Last year I taught math and science exclusively. I have prior experience tutoring 1st grade reading and 4th grade math. I also completed my internship in kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade and 4th grade.
