Bio
I love differentiating lessons and meeting students where they are. I love to challenge students to be critical independent thinkers through productive struggle and guidance. Students become my "kiddos", I believe that learning is a life-long journey and I enjoy being part of that journey for as long as I can. I live in southern Missouri (very close to Arkansas). I have a 14-year-old and a 2-year-old. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, and spending time with our family pets. I have a passion for reading and using student interests to build foundational learning blocks for English Concepts.
Teacher Specialization
I graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 2017 with my Bachelors in English Education. M-I-Z-Z-O-U! After graduation, I worked in Fulton, Missouri as the 7th, then 8th, grade English teacher from 2017-2019. In 2019, my family decided to move closer to where our roots and Missouri Virtual Academy was new on the scene in Missouri. Since starting at MOVA, I have been able to connect with students across the state. I have also been part of the National Advocacy Team, the Tutoring Team, Lead Teacher, and Curriculum Mapping team.
