Bio
Hello! My name is Hannah Merrill and I currently reside in Wyoming. I love spending time with my dog on walks or going to the gym. I believe everyone is a lifelong learner and love helping others to see the potential in themselves to do great things. I believe in teaching to the whole child and meeting each student where they are at academically, behaviorally and socially. I love having fun while we are learning and I am constantly asking questions to provide a deeper understanding. I constantly provide immediate feedback in a positive way. I want to provide students with the opportunity to grow their learning and understanding of concepts. I strive to help students think critically about concepts for a deep conceptualization. I strive to always create a positive and welcoming environment where mistakes are allowed to happen without any negative repercussion. I allow all students to be heard and try to understand where they are coming from in different situations.
Teacher Specialization
I hold a degree in Elementary Education and have worked in an elementary school for 6 years. I have taught 1st grade in all subject areas for 4 years. I have also worked with resource room teachers to help support 3rd and 4th grade students in reading, writing and math. During my time working with 3rd and 4th grade I gained roughly 4 months of virtual teaching experience. I have a specialization in working with a multitude of different personalities, different learning styles and academic and behavioral needs. I am proficient in creating a positive and welcoming environment where learners can succeed and grow. I am constantly reflecting on the learning and teaching that is taking place to ensure that high quality instruction is happening.
