Bio
My name is Helene Marshall, and I am a dedicated educator who is passionate about helping students grow academically and confidently. I currently teach at Palm Beach Lakes School, where I design engaging lessons that strengthen literacy, critical thinking, and real world connections. I am certified in Social Science for grades 6–12, certified in ESL, and I also serve as a certified Haitian Creole interpreter, which helps me communicate clearly with families and support diverse learners. In addition to my classroom experience, I am skilled in elementary reading, language arts, and lower elementary math, and I enjoy breaking skills down in a way that feels clear, encouraging, and age appropriate. Throughout my career, I have maintained a 90 percent student pass rate, developed curriculum aligned with state standards, and created assessments that promote deeper thinking and strong academic habits.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching specialization is in Social Sciences, with a focus on United States History, World History, and African American History. I have also taught Advanced Placement courses and designed curriculum that integrates literacy skills, critical thinking, and meaningful classroom discussion. In addition to secondary education, I have experience working with elementary students in kindergarten through 5th grade, supporting language arts, reading development, and lower elementary math. I have also worked with ESE students and am committed to using patient, structured, and supportive strategies that meet diverse learning needs. I hold a Master of Science in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Fort Hays State University, and I have 10 years of experience in education.
