Bio

Hi! I’m passionate about helping young learners thrive and believe that every child deserves instruction tailored to how they learn best. I create a warm, structured environment where students feel seen, heard, and supported. My approach is grounded in the belief that strong relationships build strong readers—and that growth happens when children feel safe to take risks. My tutoring goals center on boosting confidence, closing literacy gaps, and celebrating every milestone along the way. Whether a student is learning their first sight words or mastering tricky phonics patterns, I meet them where they are and guide them forward with encouragement, clarity, and consistency. I love watching students surprise themselves with what they can do, and I believe that joyful learning is powerful learning.

Teacher Specialization

I have over 20 years of experience in K–2 education and currently teach English Language Learners in a fully virtual setting. I specialize in early literacy, with a strong foundation in both Orton-Gillingham and Science of Reading practices. I hold a Master of Education in Reading and am certified in Elementary Education (K–6), Reading K–12, and ESOL in Florida, Michigan, and Colorado. My virtual teaching experience spans small-group intervention, 1:1 support, and whole-class instruction across multiple platforms. I’ve worked with students of all abilities, including those with dyslexia, language delays, and those learning English as a second language.
