My name is Ms. Govea, and I believe that every student can thrive when learning feels meaningful, supportive, and tailored to their needs. My educational philosophy centers on making learning an engaging and confidence-building experience — helping students not only understand what they’re learning, but why it matters. As a tutor, my goal is to create a safe and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and celebrating progress along the way. I focus on developing strong learning habits, critical thinking, and a growth mindset that helps students succeed far beyond one subject or grade level. Building relationships is at the heart of my approach. I take time to get to know each student’s learning style, interests, and challenges so I can personalize every session.
Teacher Specialization
I have eight years of experience in education, teaching a wide range of grade levels from elementary through high school. My background includes both traditional classroom and virtual instruction, allowing me to create flexible and engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners in any setting. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and am a certified Florida teacher with credentials in Elementary Education (K–6) and Chemistry (6–12). Content Areas: Elementary (K–6): Math, Science Middle School (6–8): Earth Science, Physical Science, and Life Science High School (9–12): Chemistry, Physical Science, Earth/Space Science I have over five years of virtual teaching experience using Canvas, Nearpod, Blooket/Kahoot to create engaging, interactive lessons. My teaching style is structured, supportive, and adaptable, focused on building confidence, problem-solving skills, and lasting academic success.
