Bio
Hello! I’m so excited for the opportunity to tutor with you! I live in Utah with my husband, two cats (The Duchess of Mittenton and The Void), and our ducks (Welly, Waddles, and Puddles). Animals and travel are two of my favorite things! I began my career as a paraprofessional in Salt Lake and loved working closely with students of all elementary ages. That experience helped me develop strong relationships and discover how rewarding it is to support all learners. I then spent two wonderful years as a 3rd and 5th grade classroom teacher. Helping students find their "aha moment" and watching their confidence grow is what drives my passion for education. I can’t wait to support your child on their learning journey!
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in elementary math and reading, supported by my bachelor’s in Elementary Education and my master’s focused on English Language Learners. In math, I teach step-by-step problem solving and critical thinking to help students approach real-world tasks with confidence. In reading, I use research-based phonics, including phonemic awareness, spelling patterns, decoding, and comprehension strategies. With experience supporting diverse learners, I personalize instruction so every student feels capable, encouraged, and motivated to grow.
