Bio

Hello! My name is Jeana Ford. I believe that a positive learning experience is built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect. My goal as a tutor is to help students become confident, independent learners who can tackle challenges with a growth mindset. I am here to guide and support, not just to provide answers. I believe that learning should be a collaborative journey, not a lecture. As a tutor, my goal is to empower students to become confident, independent learners who aren't afraid to ask "why." I am dedicated to helping students develop problem-solving skills they can use far beyond our sessions. My educational philosophy is centered on building a positive and respectful learning environment. By fostering an environment of trust, respect, and open communication, I allow students to feel comfortable and supported so they can freely ask questions and make mistakes. By tailoring my approach to each student's unique learning style, I help them unlock their full potential.

Teacher Specialization

Because of my love for problem solving, I enjoy teaching math. I believe in understanding the "why" behind solutions rather than the "how". As a dedicated educator with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master's in Educational Leadership, I have 17 years of experience in both tutoring and classroom settings. My passion lies in helping students grasp the fundamentals of Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and Middle School Math and Science. I am certified to teach 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Math, English, Science, and Social Studies, as well as Algebra 1. I have 5 years experience as a Math Coach for Kindergarten-6th grade, and 1 year experience in virtual education.
