Bio
Hi! I'm Mrs. Sprague! I live in a small town in Upstate, NY. I have had the experience of working with middle and high school students with a variety of abilities over the years as both a tutor and a teacher. While teaching English at the secondary level, I have found that the most significant learning takes place when students are having fun and seeing the purpose behind what they are learning. I have a variety of experience teaching both synchronous and asynchronous online English courses at the middle school and high school levels. I believe that creativity and engagement are at the heart of a meaningful learning experience, and I make it a priority to ensure that my students are invested and engaged in each lesson. A passion of mine is to create games and activities which have my students looking forward to engaging in learning during each session.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Masters of Science in English Education, grades 7-12. I currently hold 6 state certifications (NY, IL, NC, TX, WI, WA) in teaching English at the secondary level. I reside in New York have been a teacher for 17 years with 5+ years of experience as both an in-person and online tutor. Each summer, I work with high school juniors and seniors to help them complete their English course requirements and successfully graduate. Additionally, I have experience with homeschool students.
