Bio
My name is Jess Phelps and I not only have a passion for mathematics, but I also love playing the piano and playing sports. My favorite sport is basketball, but I enjoy watching and playing most sports. I also love to spend time with my two dogs Lubi and Henry. In my free time I travel the world and have been to all fifty states and six out of the seven continents. I still need to visit Antartica and I am hoping to do that soon. Mathematics has always been a passion of mine, and it is my goal to take math content and put it into terms students can understand no matter what their math knowledge may be. Creating a love for math in all my students is what I strive to do, and I am so excited to do just that.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a professional educator since 2004 after graduating with a BS in mathematics, a Masters in K12 leadership & curriculum, and my doctorate in higher education leadership. I worked in the public/private school sector from 2005 through 2014. In 2014 I became an online mathematics teacher at a private school. I am also a private mathematics tutor online and in-person, and work with students who struggle in mathematics to break down concepts to help understanding.
