Bio
As a tutor, I believe students thrive when learning feels personal, accessible, and encouraging. I differentiate instruction to meet each learner where they are and provide constructive, timely feedback that empowers them to improve with confidence. I work to ensure students not only improve academically but also build problem-solving skills, creativity, and a growth mindset. My goal is to support each learner in reaching their full potential with clarity, encouragement, and high expectations. I believe strong relationships help students learn, so I work to connect with them in a kind and honest way. By creating an inclusive and welcoming space, I help students feel confident and supported as they learn. I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, traveling, and learning new things. I’ve been lucky to explore many places around the world and meet wonderful people. At home, I’m supported by my three college-aged children, a bulldog, a very lazy cat, and a wonderful husband
Teacher Specialization
With over 30 years of experience teaching students ages 13 and under, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping learners succeed. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have spent the last five years teaching English as a Second Language virtually and another five years in a fully virtual school, where I have also tutored many students, helping them build the confidence and skills to tackle even the most challenging coursework. My approach is student-centered, supportive, and focused on fostering both academic growth and a love of learning.
