Bio
Hi there! I am excited to have new students to tutor! I like to connect with my students and have them feel comfortable with the subject matter and me. I break down concepts in an understandable way and look for where a student might be having difficulty. I look to adapt to specific needs and make adjustments as necessary. I am patient and encouraging as I work to increase each student's skill level. We practice at length to help him or her master a topic. I like to compliment good work and effort as we go, leaving students happy about their day's achievements. My experience includes classroom and homeschool teaching, along with much tutoring over the years.
Teacher Specialization
I am great at teaching math, reading, writing, history, and science from first grade through 7th grade. I can help those needing to improve their reading abilities, using phonics and other tactics. I can help elementary students write and spell better, and quicken their memorization of times tables. I teach math all the way through pre-algebra, and have special expertise in fractions, decimals, and percent. In recent times, I have done some online tutoring to go along with 27 years of teaching experience. I have a B.A. in Liberal Studies, with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and added specialization in Middle School Math and Social Studies.
