Bio
Hi! I believe that learning should be an engaging and joyful experience for every student. My goal as an educator is to create a classroom environment where curiosity thrives, questions are welcomed & students feel confident exploring new ideas. I work to ensure that each student feels valued & supported because meaningful learning grows from a foundation of trust & belonging. To make learning both accessible & enjoyable, I incorporate a wide variety of visuals & interactive manipulatives into my instruction. Creating a learning atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions is essential to my teaching practice. I emphasize that mistakes are a part of learning. I value the voice of students & their families and believe that collaboration strengthens learning! I am a proud twin mama of 3 children. My hobbies include spending time with family, reading, and cooking! A fun fact about me is I was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2019 at Veterans' Memorial School in NJ.
Teacher Specialization
I specialize in all elementary education content areas, but have a strong passion for literacy. I have 13 years of teaching experience. I have taught 3rd grade for the past 11 years and previously taught 5th grade for 2 years. I am also ESL Certified in grades K-12 and have lots of experience with teaching english language learners. I also specialize in supporting students with diverse needs, including those with varying learning disabilities. I love to incorporate literacy development into every lesson! I use differentiated instruction, multisensory strategies, and scaffolded supports to help students engage with content at their own pace and through their preferred learning styles.
