I'm Ms. Cohen and I cannot wait to meet you and work with you! I believe students learn best when they like their teacher and when they know their teacher appreciates them. Once students feel relationally safe, they are more apt to take small risks like ask questions and feel comfortable to learn and explore. When teaching, I know I am doing my job when students are engaged and in the zone. I like to bridge ELA content to make real-world connections to students lives.
Teacher Specialization
I've been teaching ELA (grades 7-12) for 20 years. I have training in gifted and multicultural education, neurodiversity, multisensory learning, English Language Learners, Universal Design for Learning, Diversity, Equity and Justice and Project Based Learning. I am also a parent to two beautiful children.
