Bio

Hello! My name is Kacey Broadway and I have over 12 years teaching experience in elementary education. I have experience working with diverse learners including students with special needs, ESL and speech and language needs (Speech Therapy). I am a passionate learner and educator. My teaching philosophy focuses on a comfortable inviting environment where all students are valued and have a voice. Every student can learn when the use of differentiated instruction supports where students currently are academically. I enjoy the use of hands on activities and manipulative to help aid in learning. Learning should be enjoyable and engaging. I want every student to know that I care and I want to celebrate goals that may students achieve. I believe in building strong relationships by encouraging students, communication with families and collaboration with teachers. I believe I can make a difference to help each student I teach.

Teacher Specialization

I hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education K-8, Speech Communications-Speech & Language Therapist, and ESL. The majority of my teaching experience is within the elementary grade level. I have supported students not just academically, but also in communication and language goals. I have supported students to increase confidence in articulation, reading and language and oral communication in the general education classroom with peers and teachers. I have experience teaching special needs students. My experience with special needs students consist of students that were non verbal, cognitive and developmental delayed. I have experience teaching students in speech therapy using AAC-Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
