Bio
Working with students on developing a growth mindset, strengthening their foundational skills, and helping them build their confidence in their ability to learn are major components of what I attempt to do with every student. In addition to academics, I try to incorporate natural opportunities for working on and practicing social skills, self-regulation, and self-advocacy. These skills not only help students in the classroom, but in nearly every other aspect of their life.
Teacher Specialization
I am in my ninth year of teaching 6th grade Special Education. I am certified to teach K-12 Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical Special Education. My teaching position allows me the opportunity to co-teach Math and ELA in the general education classroom. It also allows me to teach Resource Math, ELA, and Reading in the special education classroom. In addition to teaching, I have a year and a half of virtual tutoring experience. I am a lifelong learner. I currently have my A.A. in General Studies, B.A. in English, M.S. in Learning Experience Design and Educational Technology. I also have 45+ of additional graduate credits in various subjects; though, many are Special Education related.
