My teaching philosophy centers on hands-on, project-based, and skills-focused learning that connects knowledge to real-world application. I provide targeted feedback that celebrates strengths and identifies growth areas, while tailoring lessons to align with standards, individual goals, and unique learning styles. As a tutor, my mission is to transform learning into an engaging adventure where curiosity thrives and knowledge sticks. I infuse inquiry and creativity based on student interest into tutoring sessions. Beyond teaching, I enjoy nature hikes, yoga, and ziplining. I’m passionate about travel and fascinated by AI and machine learning. As a lifelong chocolate lover, I also have a soft spot for Halloween! I’m excited about the future of education and technology, and I’m committed to preparing learners to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world. Let’s embark on this journey of discovery together!
Teacher Specialization
With dual Master of Science degrees in Urban Education and School Building Leadership, I bring over 19 years of experience in education, including 13 years focused on instruction in core subjects (ELA/reading, math, social studies, science) intervention, and tutoring. As a certified Reading Specialist, I have guided students and educators in the Science of Reading research-based practices. I hold certifications in Childhood Education, Students with Disabilities (K-12), and Bilingual Education (Spanish). Currently, I specialize in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), partnering with schools, students, and families to deliver targeted, data-driven instruction that fosters academic growth and long-term success.
