Bio
My name is Mrs. Edwards, and I'm so happy to welcome you to my virtual classroom. Building positive student relationships is super important to me! I love the Rita Pierson saying of "Every student deserves a champion." I understand that with tutoring, there might be times the student gets frustrated, but we can work through it together for the common goal of them building confidence in the material and in themselves. A little bit more about me: I live in the Indianapolis area with my husband, stepson, daughter, and our cat. Teaching remotely has allowed me to be there even more for family time, which is my favorite kind of time. My stepson just turned eleven, and my baby girl just turned one!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Master of Fine Art degree in Creative Writing, a teaching license in 5th-9th grade English/ Language Arts and a Teach English as a Foreign Language certificate. My first teaching job was at Eminence Jr-Sr High School from 2017-2021, where I taught 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades for English. I have been working at Indiana Digital Learning School for four years now, and have taught Middle School (6th-8th grade) Reading RTI, as well as English class for 7th, 8th and 9th grades.
