Bio
I am so excited to be your tutor. My approach to teaching involves meaningful, interactive and engaging learning experiences that are focused on student achievement. I strive to provide a positive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued and are able to express themselves in their own unique ways. I believe in meaningful, interactive and engaging learning experiences that are focused on student achievement. I strive to bring enthusiasm, technology and creativity to my classroom in order to create meaningful experiences (teachable moments) and develop life-long learners. I have received Teacher of the Year several times in my school district for my dedication and commitment as an educator.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Education/Curriculum and instruction. I have 28 years of professional experience as an Elementary Teacher, providing academic instruction for grades K-6 in Language Arts, Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies, including after school tutoring and summer intervention programs. I have 15 years of experience with Virtual teaching including facilitating online college courses, Elementary Courses in Language Arts, Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies. I have experience as an Early College Liaison/Advisor and online Assessment Scorer. I have experience teaching online courses and providing academic support/tutoring online. Most of my professional experience has been devoted to reading intervention and helping students improve reading fluency skills.
