Bio

Hello! My name is Mrs. Orr, and I am excited to begin this journey with you! I am passionate about science and believe that everyone can make a connection with the natural world around them. As a teacher, I see students who need more focused time and attention and as a tutor I can give them that. I like to get to know my students and what they enjoy so that meaningful connections can be made. I want my students to feel comfortable and know that I see them. My goal is not only to support each student in their math and science education, but I am also here to help them to build up their critical thinking skills. You will find that I love to ask questions that allow for deeper thinking and motivate students to find that "aha!" moment. My greatest desire is for my students to feel confident in their knowledge and understanding of the material so that they can enjoy what they are learning. Or, at least, be less stressed by it.

Teacher Specialization

I have a B.S. in Physics and Astronomy with a minor in Geology from Baylor University, as well as Master of Arts in Teaching from Cumberland University. As a physics major, I took extensive mathematics courses. My teaching experience lies with the middle school and high school sciences, as well as tutoring students in math.
